DREAMERS

MARK SARDAR

Mark Sardar's journey with Dream Basketball Camp began at the age of 12, as he was about to enter his freshman year of high school. Back then, he was a scrawny and lanky kid, but with an unwavering determination to achieve greatness in basketball. Mark arrived at Dream with a set of goals - to push the limits of his physical capabilities, enhance his ball-handling skills, become a proficient finisher at the basket, and achieve the ability to execute pull-up jump shots.

Although always a passionate player, Mark struggled with mental toughness in his early years. Imperfections on the court would often trigger his temper, hindering his ability to perform at his best. However, Mark was determined to overcome this obstacle and gradually developed resilience in the face of adversity.

Over the course of four years, Mark's efforts paid off as he transformed into one of the most formidable two-way players in the yeshivah league. His dedication to conditioning and developing his skills propelled him to new heights. Mark's hard work and commitment did not go unnoticed by his team, as he was eventually bestowed with the honor of being named captain in his senior year. Mark went on to lead MDY to 3 tournament titles and the Yeshivah league championships in his senior year.

PHILIP SHERR

Phil Sherr joined Dream Basketball Camp at the age of 11, with a strong desire to develop his body and become the best guard he could be. By the time he was entering his sophomore year of high school in the summer of 22', Dream took Phil under its wing and put him through his own specialized training program five times a week, in addition to his regular camp schedule from 11 am to 4 pm.

Phil was dedicated to his training and continued to work hard after leaving camp, completing his individual workout from 5:30 to 7 pm every weekday. The intensive individual training included speed and agility training, strength training, and on-court work, resulting in Phil gaining 15 pounds of muscle that summer.

The following season, as a junior varsity player, Phil led his team to two tournament titles and the number one seed, where unfortunately, they fell short of the championship in the semi-finals. Despite the setback, Phil returned to Dream Basketball Camp in the summer of 23' with an unwavering focus on his ultimate goal to become a yeshivah league champion.

By spring 24', Phil achieved his dream, leading the MDY Warriors to three tournament championships and the yeshivah league championship as a junior. In the championship game, Phil's exceptional skills earned him the coveted Most Valuable Player award.

    Dream. Teach. Build. Empower.

Dream Basketball has been an awesome program for my boys. Teaching them the skills and techniques is an essential part of the program. But the true success is building confidence and respect in them. That’s something that lasts way beyond any game. That gives them the ability to succeed in the game of life.

I am friends with guys I would never have been friends with and we are all boys now .

Through Dreams program they have honed their skills and elevated their game, but Benny and Joey also instilled in them a confidence that transcends the court. Their dedication as coaches and the admirable role models they are, has been pivotal in their development. Their approach to training, which emphasizes hard work and teaches the true meaning of effort, has not only enhanced their basketball skills but also instilled a deep understanding of discipline and dedication. They take a vested interest in each and every kid that they train. This personalized attention fosters a special bond that is truly remarkable. The Dream Program isn't just about basketball; it's about building character. Their dedication to teaching all facets of the game, make every session something my boys eagerly look forward to.
